Connection to the Arts
What does the arts community in Brownwood mean to you?
While I am not any kind of an artist, I truly appreciate the way the Arts reach people, be that the individual creating or taking in an art piece, entertainers performing and the audience watching the stage or the community coming together to celebrate culture and, in the process, making something much greater than themselves.
Do you have a favorite type of art (visual art, theatre, music, dance, etc.)? Why? My favorite form of art is the visual arts, specifically painting, and
My experience working backstage for theater and other stage events makes that the one I know the best but I am not sure I could ever pick a favorite.
Favorite local arts event, program, or project :
The Lyric Theater is how I came to be a member of the Arts Council so it has to be the most important to me.
Personal Spotlight
Hobbies or interests outside of work and the arts :
Avid Nerd, Karaoke, Reading, Board Games, Role-Playing Games, Computer Games
Favorite place in Brownwood :
Family Ranch, down the Bayou from town.
Vision for the Arts
What excites you most about the future of the arts in Brownwood?
Getting more involved with all the Arts, seeing more of what happens behind the scenes and contributing to the continued growth of the Arts here.
What impact do you hope the Arts Council continues to have in the community?
To find more ways to engage the people in the area and maybe add even more Arts related events beyond our current scope.
