Cinco de Mayo Celebration
The Brownwood 2018 Cinco de Mayo Celebration will take place on Friday, May 4th from 5:00 – 10:00 p.m. on Center Avenue in downtown Brownwood. This is the Art Council's third year to host the event. There were over 2,500 visitors the first year and over 4,000 last year. We are expecting over 5,000 guests this year.
The outdoor fiesta will include food and craft vendors, an area for dancing, free games, piñatas, activities for children, and several contests for adults. This year, there will also be an art exhibit in The Vault.
Free performances in the Lyric Theater will feature Austin's Mariachi Los Toros and San Antonio's Guadalupe Dance Company. There will also be live performances by Art.Music.People in Pat Coursey Park and demonstrations in the streets by several local organizations, including the Matachines de Sta. María Reina de la Paz.
